Art Therapy

Express, explore, and grow.

Lotus Psychology provides clients of all ages to engage in psychology based art therapy.
Prior to embarking on her journey to become a registered psychology, Katie completed a Visual Arts Degree at Southern Cross University, focusing on art therapy and expressive creative modalities.

Art Therapy offers a unique, creative avenue for individuals to explore their inner world in a safe, supportive environment. Unlike traditional talk therapy, this approach allows clients to express thoughts and emotions through artistic mediums like drawing, painting, and sculpture, combining verbal and non-verbal communication. This can be especially powerful for those who find it challenging to articulate their feelings through words alone.

Art Therapy sessions are uniquely designed to meet individual goals and interests and presenting issues such as emotional regulation, anxiety, depression, grief and loss, identity and self-esteem issues. The therapist helps guide the process, but the client is in control of their creative expression, making each session a personal journey of self-discovery and growth.

Art Therapy is available for children, young people and adults, offering tools to manage stress, process trauma, and develop stronger, more positive relationships.

By engaging with art, clients can unlock new ways of understanding themselves, resolve inner conflicts, and foster emotional healing, regardless of their age or artistic ability. Whether it’s about overcoming specific life challenges or simply enhancing one’s emotional health, Art Therapy is a valuable resource that supports personal growth and resilience.
